Yamaha or mercury?????

tarjla	im about to buy a new outboard but cant decide between a yamaha 115 or mercury 115 two stroke.I hope to keep the motor long term so reliability and repair costs are my main concerns.please give me your thoughts	2001-06-12

wesal1	I run turni fihing I see guys blowing up all kinds of motors including merc's and yammies but I think the yammi is the most reliable	2001-06-12
J.B. Cornwell	Hi, tarjla. Make that 4 to 0. Mercs are good engines. From what I have seen and heard Yamaha is the class of the field in mid to upper range 2 strokes. There are plenty of dealers everywhere and parts are available but expensive. Good luck. JB	2001-06-12
