ProPulse Propeller ????

Bob_VT Does anyone have any comments or experience with a ProPulse Prop? I am considering one just for it's variable pitch capability.

evin300 Who make this? Is there a web site to read about? 2001-07-06
evin300 OK, I found it: http://www.propulse.se/english/index.htm

Looks like it will have to be a four blade prop, not always the best answer for your needs, also I would not consider it a performance prop if that is what youre after.

Finding a dealer that will let you test different props will yield the best result.
If you want to ski, and go fast you may need two props, which isnt a bad idea as you should have a spare anyway. Propellers are a very important part of your set-up, determine what kind of performance that you would like to achieve, then go out and find the one that will work best for you. who knows? maybe it will lead you to this prop!

Also I would confer with a expert, to narrow down the search. Many dealers seem to lack in their knowledge. Its a hassle, but very rewarding in the end.

Bob_VT Evin thank you for your reply. Sadly this geographical area has few "experts" that are willing to let you "try" props. This prop would be a second prop for me. Ahh, my hunt will continue.... 2001-07-07
enn The Propulse is a Swedisk prop. It has been tested in severan Scandinavian boat magazines and it perform quite well - but it is not a High Performance propeller.

It is fine if you want to be able to change pitch on smaller ( less than 85 hp) motors but if fitted to engines of more than 85 hp it will give a few knots less speed than a SST propeller.

Hope this helps.

evin300 Why not use the internet? I know you can call many places to talk to a knowledgable person, get a few opinons, then you will know pretty much which one. Once you know which prop will work the best, you can look on E-bay etc. for the best deal. I have heard this guy is good, but havent used him yet. http://www.bogerprops.com/index.html

You will need to know your RPM & MPH @ WOT with a normal load in your boat.
