Cam Specs on Merc 165hp L6

Liljoe	Does anyone know the cam specs on the old 165hp mercruiser inline 6? Rebuilding a 250 chevy to put in the boat and want to keep the rpms low but the torque up.	2001-07-19
fone_man	The Merc Part Number for Camshaft is 430-3161 for 250 CID / 160, 165 HP The Seirra Number is 18-1482 As for specs... with the Merc Number, your local Merc dealer should be able to give these to you or you can just order it & you will be on-target. Good Luck	2001-07-20
Liljoe	I have checked with Sterndrive.com and they have say they have nothing because the motor hasn't been built in so long. I'm looking for the duration and lift to study and see how to regrind a bigger cam to get more low rpm torque. Thanks for the numbers though... That way I can see what I can dig up.	2001-07-20
